At the end of the first season of The White Princess, we are left with the doubt as to whether Perkin Warbeck was Richard of York or not. However, we are practically led to believe that he was so that Elizabeth has to make the heartrending choice between her brother and her sons’ future. But surely one would know by the way he talked as he would have an accent if he were Flemish, and where was he all that time between when he hid in the attic to when he appeared in Burgundy. Okay, it’s only a story! But it isn’t, it’s history. In order to be believable, it has to fill in all the gaps.
